My Tree House Story

Welcome your child into the wonderful world of imagination. Explore the outdoors and write about your experiences. Allow real-life explorations to carry children off to imaginary places all their own.  One idea of an outdoor adventure is going up into a treehouse. Changes in height are a lot of fun for kids. Whether it is a nature-made rock wall or man-made ladder, kids love going up! Notice how I used what was close by to springboard off into fictitious tree house possibilities.

Writing about a treehouse opens up new vocabulary and climbing ideas. The context, of outdoor play, also makes a great environment for descriptive action words. Notice how I set up a clear beginning, middle, and end. The beginning of the story tells how I get up into the treehouse. The middle tells what happens while I am up there. The end of the story tells how I get down out of the treehouse.

Create your own tree house adventure!

If you could build your own tree house…..

What would your tree house look like?

Where would your tree house be located?

Whom would you like to take up into the tree house with you?

What would you do in your tree house?
